Beach Time

Hello friends.

To days post is about the challenge i have just played along with on  the Kraft Plus Blog site. The challenge is Warp and Weft and incorporate some weaving into your project.I  had to really think about if i was going to do this one as my head was  not in the space. I was doing another layout today with a beach scene and  i found a dye cut  which was a dye cut from Uniquely Creative, called a Cross Hatch Dye and i conceived what i want to achieve with this challenge.

CUTTING:

Cut "Rattan: 6.5" x 4.5"
Cut " Collecting " reverse 2" x 5"

Cut Brown Hessian  5" x 1.5"
Cut onion bag into 3" x 3"
Dye cut 2 " Cross Hatch" from "Rattan:

STENCILLING:

Work out placement of photo then randomly stencilled around photo using Cadence Relief Paste - Mint Green and stencil made from the  cross hatch dye.
Painted Fence with Starlight Metallic Paste in Aqua
Stamped the orange onion bag with  "Island ink"



ASSEMBLY:

Added photo to  "Rattan"
Added "Rattan" to Bamboo sheet
added Collecting (reverse), to bottom of Bamboo sheet tucking it underneath
Added photo mats to layout 2.50" from the top and 3.25 from left hand side with foam dots
Added smaller piece of brown hessian underneath the piece of "Collecting Reverse"
Added white Hessian 4.25 from top and 3.75 from the right
Added "Thatching " 4" from, the right hand side and 4" from the top this will overlap the white hessian
Added the title from the sticker sheet to the smaller white piece of Hessian
Added Dye cut to left hand corner and place the title over this
Added collectables , dye cuts and flower as per photo

Love

Afternoon all,

On this cold bleak day I have complete another quick layout  for a challenge over on the Let's get Sketchy blog site.
It's the mid month challenge , is a very simple sketch , I have used a photo of my granddaughter with her nephew which is our great grandson. I have used an old Kaisercraft collection called "Secret Garden".
A very simple layout , I have used  left over scraps to complete this.

ASSEMBLY:

Added  "Wildflower" to the top of card stock
Added the "Posy" butting up against the "Wildflower"
Added the salvage from "Wildflower" under neath this 
Added row of pink hearts from sticker sheet at the join of the " Posy and Wildflower"
Add the triangle cut form  "Forget me Not" to top right hand corner.
Added photo firstly to the "Overgrown then added the "Overgrown" to the "Roses" leaving 0.25 gap all around on both pieces
Added the photo mat  to the page 3.5" from left hand side and 4.25" from the top
Add flowers from the sticker sheet to the triangle at top right hand corner
Added Title to left of Photo , added gems below title 
Add flower posy to the right of photo mat
Added a few words from the sticker sheet to the bottom left of photo mat see layout picture.


Its completed really quick and easy as usual the hardest part is picking the photo and paper, this took me the longest time to do as i really want to use scrap pieces as it suited the layout.

Great Day

Morning all,
Today's blog is about the layout i have completed for the challenge over on the White with one blog site
The challenge was to used Air bubble Blue  with White, I have added a colour sample below.Hard to find the right colour The layout photo is of my granddaughter with her nephew and our great grandson. I love these  Merci Ornamental Frames .

PAINT AND  STAMPING:

Stamped the large stamp 3.5" from the top and 2.5" from the right in baby blue ink
Coloured wooden flourish and flowers in Kaisercraft white paint
Using the Distress Crayon due line horizontal across the sheet of white card stock with the first line at 0.25" and then at  1.50" line  and then 9 lines at 1" apart then again  0.25" line
Drew two line vertical one at top and one at the bottom  a  the 1" mark

ASSEMBLY:

Added the water coloured piece 2.50" from the top and 4.75 from left hand side
Overlapped the piece of corrugated white card 4.75: from the left and  2.75" from the top
Added blue vellum to "Blue Posy" reverse and place it 3.50" from the left and 3.25 from the top
Added flag 5" from the left hand side and 3" from the bottom
Second flag added 6." from the top and 2.50 from left hand side before placing flag down positioned a collectables underneath so that the flower sat underneath both the flags.
The  first cut doily was placed 1" from the right hand side, directly against the bottom
Second layer added to the top 0.50"left hand side 
Add full doily 3.50" from the right hand side and 5.50" from the top
.Added photo to frame added to page 4" from left hand side and 5" from the top leaving the outer edge exposed
Added flowers, fussy cut flowers, Wooden flourishes and  butterflies and lace leaves as per photo

Never stop Dreaming



Afternoon All

This blog is about a layout for the challenge on the "Off Rails Scrapbooking" blog. It is a Mood board challenge see below for coloursDuring the week i had been putting away some pages in one of my granddaughter album and i found this background paper which she had chalked in blue with a hint of yellow,  (When she was about 10 she loves to muck around with my craft stuff and create the background pages),and  she still does. On this layout  I have used a couple of her backgrounds she has water colour or used mica powders with.I thought the background suited the colours in the mood board. You can be the judge to see if  have it right as i am not a fan of mixed media. I have added a section on how i did the wet media if i had to start from scratch

Water colouring of the pink card stock was completed in  Ken Oliver Colour Burst in "Indigo and Turquoise"
Craft Concepts sheet  of blue strip paper "All Occasions"
Snowflakes dye cut - large and  small
Sheet of Vellum (or scraps)


WET MEDIA:

Used yellow and blue chalk to  cover surface of a sheet of white card stock 12" x 12"
Over this i added a layer of Glaze paste
Once dried I cover sections whit Crackle paste through a stencil i made up of  vellum snow flakes 
Sprinkling the Mica Beads through out whilst still wet
Added The mica Beads to the dark blue water coloured pieces of card stock


CUTTING:
Removed salvage from the pink and white card stock
Cut 11.5" x 3 " from water colour sheet of pink card
Cut 5" x 5.5" water colour  sheet of pink card stock
Cut 4.5" x 6.5" from white glitter card stock
Cut 6.5" x 4.5" from Craft Concepts "All Occasions "
Dye cut 3 large and 3 small snow flakes


ASSEMBLY:

Added 11.5" x 3 .5" from water colour sheet of pink card to the background hard up against the top and 3.5" from the left hand side
Added 4.5" x 6.5" from white glitter card stock 4.25" from the left and 3.25 from the top
Added  5" x 5.5" water colour  sheet of pink card stock 4.75" from the left and 3.5" from the top using foam top
Added  6.5" x 4.5" from Craft Concepts "All Occasions 5.50" from the left and 4" from the top using foam tape
Added photo 6" from the left and 4.25" from the top
Under the piece of All Occasions  tucked two white doily's down the right hand side 
Under the second piece of water coloured paper  Added a blue felt doily which i had cut in half
Added cluster of white and blue flowers to the lower left hand corner  tucking a small piece of cheese cloth under neath 
Added blue flower to the top left hand corner of the photo 
Scattered 5 lace snow flakes through out see photo for further details

Savour Life and all it's magic

Good Afternoon,

To day's post is for a challenge  on the Mystical Scrapbooking blog site , this is a colour mood board challenge, see the colours below.  I have used Kaisercraft "Stargazer" collection with gems and a large navy butterfly, i found in my stash. For me, the colours where a challenge. I  didn't have many papers which where blue. I decided to use the scraps I had  left over from the " Star Gazer" collection . I never throw out the little bits and the salvage from the pages they always come in handy.

Using  "Starry Night" 12" x 12"  as my base
Added the navy piece of card stock ( 12" x 3")  2.5" from the bottom
Added piece of "Milky Way Reverse" ( 3" x 12" ) 5.5" from the bottom
Added salvage from "Constellation" to the top of the piece of  "Starry Night"
Added the salvage of  " Milky Way," just underneath
Added the strips from the sticker  sheet  to each of the  three joins
Added photo 3.50" from the top and 4.75" from right hand side
Added the fussy cut flowers and the strip of flowers from sticker sheet  down the left hand side of the photo using foam dots, added the  small and large orbital dyes in underneath the flowers  tucked in the dye cut perfume bottle.
Added the leaves from the "misty Mountain" sticker sheet
Added wording from the sticker sheet to the left hand side and again on the blue strip of card stock
Tucked collectables   throughout the flower strip.
Added the gems to the middle of the flowers and centre of butterfly
Added wooden flourish stars beside the wording on the navy card stock
Added butterfly to "Milky Way Reverse"
Added a "Mothers Art"  Blue Butterflies as per layout

A Little Sparkle

Morning all.
Today's post is about the July  challenge for Anna's Craft Cupboard Face book groupThe challenge was a mood board challenge using the below  colours.



What i thought i would try was something i seen on You Tube a clip where they had used Liquids Pearls as a background spreading them across the page with water and a paint brush.I checked my stock of liquid Pearl to see if i had the right colour, well nearly so i decided to use my butterfly stencil, liquid pearls and a few other mixed medium products.  This is my result.

Bazzill Basic Two Scoops card stock :- Tutti Frutti and Lemon Curd

Liquid Pearls in Robin's egg, Lemon Chiffon, Flamingo.
Mepxy Brush Markers : Orchid, Pink and Pale Blue.
Imagination Sparkle Medium:- Turquoise
Versa Mark Inks:- Lilac, Baby Blue ad Narcissus.
Butterfly Stencil;
Doily Dye and butterfly dye
Kaisercraft  "Fairy Garden" Sticker sheet, collectables and wooden flourish

CUTTING:

Cut 10 x 2" x 2" squares two of each of Tutti Frutti , Lemon Curd ,Lilac with white spots , White and , Sparkly reverse.
Dye Cut 1  Doily from the left over colours cut each of these in half
Dye Cut 2  Butterflies I used Pink and white

STENCILLING:

In each of the for corners of the white card stock,  I used the stencils, with the Versa Mark Inks, Liquid Pearls (which i used Like Textured Paste), coloured with Mepxy Markers and use the Sparkle Medium create the butterfly effect., Colouring each butterfly with a different Medium.



ASSEMBLY:


Whilst stencil  butterflies where  drying, i Added the piece of cut 2.50" squares to a scrap piece of card stock, At each of the  joins i ran a piece of Ric Rak braid and on the other two joins I added the Pink strip from the "Fairy Garden" sticker sheet.
I then placed this on an angle on the white card stock so one point was 1" from the top and 1" from the bottom.
 Adding the cut doilies  to form a photo mat for the 6" x 4" photo landscape photo.
Added words from the "Fairy Garden Collection" sticker sheet, and fairy's from the collectables 
Added remaining embellishments as per photo layout

Happiness

Hello All


Today's post is the Kaisercraft Challenge, July challenge was all about flowers, I need to use 80% or more of Kaisercraft products.
I actually found this challenge a hard decision, as they have had some especially beautiful flower collection this year.
I ended up choosing the new collection  called "Gypsy Rose". The next choice is what photo, with the deep rich burgundy colour,  i decide to use  one of our daughter wedding photo's as it was so close to the colour she had used in her flowers , church bows and table settings at her wedding.

I have used misting on this layout wan"t sure how it would  work, I have misted more on the left then the right  not bad for my first try. Was happy with it.

INKING :

Using Kaiser Iridescent spray in "Candy+, I misted the circle of "Quirky" reverse and the 11.50" x 11.50" piece of "Quirky
With this piece I held it upright and let it run down the page


ASSEMBLY:

Using "Boardwalk"  as my base ,  i place  this on a  piece of "Coffee Beans" card stock  for stability of layout.
Added  the piece of 11.50" x 11.5" of "Quirky"to Boardwalk"  using foam dots 
Then added  "Boardwalk"  circle to base sheet .90" from the top and left had side added the 10" circle to the piece of "Boardwalk" leaving the 0.25: all the way around . This fives a frame effect 
Added the fishtail 3.75" from left and 2.75 from the bottom
Added "Thatching 2.75" from the bottom and 2" from left hand side
Added "Free Spirit" 2.25" from the left and 5.25 from the top
Added "Wandering " reverse 2.50" from left hand side and 5.50" from top 
Added  the fussy cut flowers, collectables and dye cut around left hand side of circle
Added wording from sticker sheet , added feather and pink rose using foam tape to fishtail 
Added flourish and Collectables to top right hand side of frame
Added Title in between fish tail.

Water coloured sheet was painted using a mixtures of Ken Oliver Crafts Colour Burst in Indigo and Turquoise and Lindy's Gang Magical Shaker :- Teal
Painted the frame and  Chevrons using a mixture of Inks, Paints and Mousse as per colours in layout


ASSEMBLY:

Inked the grey paper frames from the Collectables with Baby Blue ink
Added  "Starry Night" to grey card stock leaving 0.25" all way around
Added  "Storm"1.75 from right hand side
Added   " Moonlight"  2" from left hand-side
Added  "Sapphire" (Reverse) 2.75" from let hand side and 2" from the top
Added piece of water coloured card 4" from right hand side vertical on paper
Added " Constellation" to the let 5.50" from left hand-side
Added the  to photo  mat  "Chambray" then placed it 2.25" from left hand side and 2.50" from the top
Added the Navy frame from the Collectables 4.75" from the left hand side and 3.25 from the top
Added  3.25" x 3.25" photo to the wooden frame and place it 4" from the left hand-side and 6.5 " from the bottom
Added the  1" x 2.25" to the second smaller frame from the collectables which has  had the "Baby Blue ink"
Added this  0.25 down  from the top and 5" from the left hand side

Using the Baby Blue ink and the "Wandering Ivy Stamp edge  4" down from top . Stamped  again 2.75" from the bottom and against far right hand side

Memories are Special Moments that tell our Story

Morning all
Today's Challenge entry is for Mystical Scrapbook.  Challenge NO: 1,  is a sketch Challenge
This was hard choice for which photos to uses, it required 2, 6"x 4" one landscape and one portrait and a 4"x 4". Do i do the great grandchildren or another wedding one for the Album
I decided on Wedding Album as this sketch did not required to much layering and the Album is getting quite fat.

Three Photos  2, 6"x 4" one landscape and one portrait and a 4"x 4"


CUTTING:

Cut the salvage off the "Rose Window" then cut to 6.25"x 12" leaving window intact
Cut "Chalet" 6.25" x  12"
Cut photo mats from reverse of " "Chalet  2 x 6.25" 4.25" and one 4.25" x 4.25"
Cut the salvage from the bottom of "Promise and Devotion" and the cut into two pieces
Cut the salvage from C'est La Vie  then cut it in to 4 pieces as per layout photo


ASSEMBLY:

Added the "Chalet to the cream card stock on the right hand side, the added the piece of "Rose Window:
On the joins i have place 4 rows of stickers, the clocks from "The Rose Avenue" collection
Black lace, XOXO  and the hearts from "Always and Forever" sticker sheet
Added photo's to mats.
Added portrait  photo mat to base  0.25" from top and 0.50" from right hand side
Added 4" x 4" photo to base 5" from right hand side and 2.25" from the top
Added landscape photo 1.25" from left hand side and 1" from bottom
Added Title , journal and butterflies as per layout
To attach the title i have used foam squares

Hi all.
I the challenge of is for -  The Happy Craft  challenge blog spot who support the Beyond Blue. 

I originally completed this page as part of the July challenges, and during this month the challenges changed
It is now changed to Junky July and this page was completed with left over bits from last year's Christmas cards which I had put aside to see if I could use them. I I have a container with these in them and never throw out the bits and pieces 

This is my entry:





I found these bits and pieces yesterday when i was looking for some other photos. I must have cut some stuff out , but not put it together when i was doing a challenge of 30 layouts in 30 days. I did not complete this challenge, My topic was Christmas through time
Thought this was most adept for this challenge. Did not use all the papers happy with the way it turned out

CUTTING:

Cut "Christmas Tradition" 11"x 11"
Cut Photo mat 5" x 6.5" from  "Poinsettia Garland" Reverse
Dye cut using the large Postage stamp dye, 2 dye cuts  from the Paper pad , one from "Sugar Plum" and one from "Poinsettia Garland"
 Dye Cut one 4" Postage Stamp from " Sugar Plum"

ASSEMBLY:

Added   "Christmas Tradition" to "Paper Garland" Leaving " We wish you a Merry" visible  and 0.50" from left hand side.
Added  photo to mat
Added  "Poinsettia Garland" Reverse 1.75" from the left and 3.5" from top using foam tape
added photo Mat 2" from left hand side"  and 3.5 from top.
Using the dye cuts place under Poinsettia Garland as per layout
Added Collectable as per layout

The second Post for today, is for a challenge on The Paper craft Secrets Face book Page.
The weather is cloudy and overcast so not the best to take photos in, so a bit behind with this
The Challenge was a sketch challenge:




My Interpretation of the Sketch:






PRODUCTS:

Kaisercraft:  "On Stage" Collection, Curtain, Ovation  and Back Stage. From the Paper Pad I have used "Act and Glossy red music notes"
" Base coat 4 "Collection - Knotted Wood .  
"2 Cool 4 School"- Paper Drama
Gold Bows
Wooden Street Light, (not sure of brand)
Pearls
Black card stock


CUTTING:


Cut  "Knotted Wood" .  2.5" x 11"C
Cut  " Ovation" 2.25" x 11"
Cut  3.5" x 11" piece of  " Paper Drama" to include the part of the curtain with the Tassel
Cut around the Left and side  to keep the tassel piece
Cut  2 x 3.5" red pieces  from" Curtain" 
Cut the piece out from the top of " Curtain Where it drapes cut down to 11" 
From the pad cut  "Act"  4.5" x 4.5" and the  glossy sheet cut to 4.25" by 4.25 "
Cut Black card stock 5" x 3.25" for photo mat



ASSEMBLY:

Using "Backstage" as my base Added 0.25" from the bottom added  " Knotted Wood .  "
Above this have added the piece of "Ovation"
Added the piece of "Curtain" 0.25 from the top
Underneath this i have added the brown piece of  "Paper Drama"
to the left hand side i have added the cut pieces of the red curtain from paper Drama following the line down through to the brown
The cut piece  of drapes have added to the top of  "Curtain using foam tops
Added the glossy red piece to the "Act"  and then added photo to black card stock'
The First  square i have placed at an angle 5.5" from left hand side and 5.5" from the right to form a diamond'
Added photo  mat 6.25" from the top and 4.75" from left hand side
The title was a piece i have left over from another photo added this beside photo mat 
Place bows , bling and wooden lights as per layout

Challenge  No: 6  was a  Double Page Sketch created by Megan. I stuck pretty much to the sketch 





My interpretation of the sketch :

Apricot gather Lace

Scan N Cut machine
8 small lace flowers
Lower Case Alpha Dyes
6" x 4" photo



CUTTING;

Cut 10" square from "Courtyard"
Using Scan an cut . Cut 2 egg shapes 10" high by 5.75" wide
Using Fiskars Lace Punch , punched 1.5" wide by 12"  four pieces of lace
Dye cut the leaf dye six times
Cut title using lower case Alpha Dyes out of " Silver Notes"



ASSEMBLY:

LEFT HAND SIDE:

Added "Courtyard" to "Suite 1" from the top 2" from left hand side
Added the apricot lace to the egg shape piece of  "Patio"
Added the piece of "Patio" to "Courtyard" 4" from Left hand side
Added 2 x 12" pieces of the cream lace , first one 3.5" from left hand side and the second piece 2.5" from the right hand edge vertical so that they sit underneath the apricot lace.
Added "Terrace" lace edging to top and bottom of page.
Added the dye cut leaves as per photo. Add small lace flowers as per photo, finishing with pearls as per photo
Added flowers and butterflies  to the bottom of frame from the sticker sheet Add the dye cut Title half on the left and half on the right hand side
Add Photo as per layout

RIGHT HAND SIDE:

Added "Courtyard" to "Suite 1" from the top and hard against the left hand side
Added the apricot lace to the egg shape piece of  "Patio"
Added the piece of "Patio" to "Courtyard" 2.5" from right hand side
