The Three Sisters (Maureen Wood) Aust

Another warm day, after a hot long weekend, we just hoping it will rain soon.This afternoon post is for a Challenge done over on the KRAFT + blog spot.

As i am not an arty person , I hate getting my hands dirty this was truly a challenge I tried a few different techniques before settling with what i have done. Could not get the dots right using paint or a stencil got so messy hope the paint washes out
I ended up using a stencil and texture paste with a few bits of scrap of paper from Kaisercraft "Open Road"Collection, the red / orange Texture paste was in a container so must have used it before for something.

Kaisercraft Upper and Lower case Alpha Dyes. White, Red and Yellow paint, Wooden Flourishes

Uniquely Creative Stencils:- Small Paint Strokes and Waves
Photo 4.75" x  4"

CUTTING: 


Cut  5" x 4" Photo mat from "Roaming " Reverse
Cut two 1.75" x 5.75"   fish tales from "Prospecting" Reverse and "Bush walk"
Cut 4" x 5"  from "Roaming"
Fussy cut Waratah from  "Roaming"
Fussy cut gum Leaves from "Bush walk" Reverse
Dye cut title from "Undiscovered"


STENCILING:


Using red/ orange texture paste and Small Paint strokes stencil left hand side  in a 2" x 2" square
Using white texture paste and Small Paint Strokes,stencil do 2 rows at 3.5" wide
Next use the Waves stencil. Using Page as your guide for completion of colours


ASSEMBLY:


Add photo to mat
Once stenciling has dried 
Add 4" x 5"  from "Roaming"3.75" from the top and 2.75" from the left using foam dots
To the right of "Roaming " add "Bush walk 3.75" from the top
Lap "Prospecting" Reverse over Bush walk"but  pa\lace at 4" from the top
Add Photo Mat using foam dots
Tuck the fussy cut leaves at top left hand corner
Tuck two of the fussy cut Waratah's  at bottom right as per photo
Follow placement of wooden flourishes and title from photo

"Love"

Afternoon all on this muggy day here in South East Queensland after a drizzle of rain this morning it been hot and steamy. inside by the air conditioning is the best place to be today. But alas our is broken , waiting till Tuesday to get a new one as the part is just as expensive as a new one (off course 2 months out of warranty)


Yesterday I finished off the White with One Challenge, 



When i first read this one , i could not think what to do as i had no colour that would match, so did ponder on it whilst i was away on holidays, as to what i could do. Realised that i had a piece of card stock that matched the colour "BUTTER CREAM" and hence my layout was born, The white background need something so i decided to paint flick, really not a wise move , have not master it yet,but was able to hide most of the runs

CUTTING: EMBOSSING:

Cream card stock 4.25" x 5.75" (Photo Mat)
Dye cut three cluster of Roses from Cream Card stock
Dye cut 3 Butterflies from cream card stock
Dye cut Frame from Cream Card stock
Dye cut 1 Doily cut in half
Dry Emboss 1.25" x 5.75" white card stock  Using star embossing folder


ASSEMBLY:

Added Photo to cream Photo mat
Add mat to white card stock using foam tape 4" from the left and 3.25" from the top
Tucked 025" of the embossed star strip underneath the left of the photo mat
Add the three embroidery flowers down the left of the embossed strip tucking them in by 0.25
Add the dye cut rose as per photo also tucking them in under the embossed sheet till you happy with them added.
Use half the dye cut doily to the bottom right of photo mat and the other the top left
Add clusters of white and cream flowers as per photo
Add white flowers to top left of embossed strip,.
Combine yellow and white paint to form to butter cream colour and paint splatter the white  card stock.
Add frame 0.25" from the right and hard against bottom add the word to inside the photo frame
add butterflies as per photo

Time Flies (Maureen Wood ) (Aust)

Afternoon all, 

Another hot and muggy one in south east Queensland, cloudy cover is keeping the temperature down it only 28 degrees , other parts of Australia are a lot hotter today so can be thankful for small mercies.

Today's one is for ARTastic,  i wonder about the colour combination and how i was going to pull it off, I was tiding up over the week end getting a draw ready for the 2019 papers, I store them my year when i came across these bits and pieces, that i thought would be perfect, a friend gave them to me late last year and i just put them aside as  there was not a full sheet of anything, looks like she cut them out but never used the pieces .

Add to orange card stock leaving a 050" gap all sides
Add row of planes across join
Add photos to "Adorable Reverse"
Leaving a 025" at top and 0.50" between each photo
Place  "Adorable Reverse" at angle with right edge touching "Curious" see photo for further details
Add Clock 2.25" from the top and 1.75" fro, the right hand side
Add Title as per photo. Add cluster of planes under the Word "Flies"
Add wood flourishes as per photo with buttons underneath each word

Precious Child

Hello,

Me back again this is yesterdays completion for "OFF THE RAILS SCRAPBOOKING



I rather like the inspiration on this one :

January is all about new beginnings and we all start out as new parents. So get out the kids photos and have some fun with this challenge. 

Lots of Inspiration from the Team as well, I decide i do one of "Tariq" one of our great grandson's when he first meets his brother a couple of days after he was born and its their dad in the photo hence my title

I did struggle with the stencilling on her I wanted to use white Gesso, as it was thin it did run, "NOT HAPPY JAN", so went with some Aqua Metallic Paint and texture paste . Hope you like what i have done

Stencil using the gesso and Aqua Metallic paint the stat pattern for 4.5" strip down the left hand side
Paint the WOW, Star and heart first using the white Gesso once dry add a coat of Aqua blue paint
On the Wooden Heart add a further coat of Silver


ASSEMBLY:

Add "Mail to "Simple Stitches"4" from the top and 3.5" from the left hand side
Add Photo to  "Tole"
Add  to  page 4.25" from the left and 4.50" from the top
Add strip of flourish down left hand side as per photo
Place the three cut wording down left hand side of "Mail" at an angle (see Photo)
Add the Flower flourish from the sticker sheet to left hand corner using foam dots
Then using strips of wording , clocks and butterflies tuck in underneath the flowers
Add star in top left corner
Add The WOW Wording 0.25 fin and from top of"M ail"  at an angle
Add embellishments as per photo

Add the spray of flowers from the Sticker Sheet to bottom right using foam dots. Tucked collectables and sticker around and under flower (see photo for further assistance)
Add the WOW wording  at an angle 1.75" from the left and 0.50" from the bottom. Check photo for placement

Australian Wildlife

Afternoon All

Just finished the two i did yesterday, as did not quite get them both completed, Another warm day although up early the day has run away on me.
A Beautiful breeze has just come in and is cooling things down considerable

The first blog is one i have completed for Creative Scrapbooks Sketchy Gallery and this is the first time i have uploaded  into their Facebook Page. Normally I would just add it to the gallery .

Good Morning


Its cloudy today , thank heavens hopefully it will keep those temperatures down a bit, Its suppose to get to 33 today. Yep another hot one.

I have use the sketch for "STICK IT DOWN" to complete another layout for our son and daughter in law wedding album yesterday. Can only fit another three pages in the album, or i will have to buy  some extenders.  Still have quite a few they have picked out. The photographer took over 5 thousand.

I have used the last of Kaisercraft "Peachy" Collection which is a shame as the colours suited the photos so well.

ASSEMBLY:     

Use  "Blush" card stock as your Base add "Aura" Reverse to top left with flower sitting on the right hand side 
Add "Honey Flower" to bottom of the "Blush" card stock   
Add the  "Chain Sticker" from the Sticker Sheet across join,  Starting at the top,cutting it at 5.5" mark and then recommencing the remainder from the bottom of the join.
Using the 2 x 3" squares of "Aura" (Reverse), Layered a doily then three cut roses and lastly adding the Honey flower (see photo for more detail )
Add first square hard against left hand side and 6" from the top
The second square is 3" in from left hand side and 9" down from top
Add Banner 8.25" from the left and hard against the top, Overlap second banner (see Photo for more detail)
Add "Sienna"  Reverse 3.5" from the left and 2" from the top Using foam dots
Add "Apricot" Reverse 3.75" from the left and 2.25" from the top
Add Photo so it sits at 2.5" from the top of and 4" from left hand side using foam dots
Tuck one of the "Taupe" under the top right and bottom left of your photo so that just the chains show
Add title  (from the sticker sheet) 8.25" from the left and gratitude down wards and 9.50" from the top
Add honey flower above  Title
Add gems as per photo. 
Tuck the large "Rose" dye under bottom left of Photo
Add the Punch Label  from "Apricot" add your journal underneath the rose dye cut

Card Sketch "Thanks" (Maureen Wood Aust)

Morning All,

Another overcast day in the South East , although it is 27 degrees , it is still cloudy so does not feel that hot. Yesterday was all about making cards as a few swaps to be had, which i agreed to before i went on holidays.

I love the sketch for "STICK IT DOWN" it can be interpreted in so many ways.

Cut  each piece of card stock to 7 cm x 4.5 cm
Cut piece of scrap from "Misty Mountain" 4.5 cm x 8.5 cm using stitched rectangle dye
Add  "Lavender" ink to Chipboard piece, once dried add   Pearlscent Purple once dried cover with Modge Podge


ASSEMBLY:


Add the two pieces of embossed card stock to card base. (See Photo)
On join add lace
Add  piece of Misty Mountain" 4.5 cm x 8.5 cm , 3 cm  from the left  and 2.5 cm  from the top
Add the chipboard piece to the piece of "Misty Mountain" scrap centering it through join of car stock
Add flowers above and below chipboard piece 
Add butterflies as per photo
