The sun has come out this afternoon after a wet start to the day, which brought me into my craft space, which I think is a good thing as I actually got some cards and a layout done.

A least the sun will warm the house up,

Morning all

This is the first time in about a year since I have participate in the challenge. I broke my fingers on my hand after a fall . They had to have surgery to have pins and screws inserted so took lots of time to recover. We then moved house into a  an over 55's Lifestyle village and to another state to be closer to  our family.

 Morning  all

Its raining again today  last night it was extremely  heavy. The place is a sodden  mess.

It will take ages to dry. At least its not hot so the grass won't  grow like it dies in summer.

Yesterday I completed the sketch for Atlantic Hearts weekly card challenge. 

As I had my scraps out as doing a journal page for a swap. I have no idea who printed the papers, I think some are Kaisercraft  and some are Stamping Up I must have received in a swap.

Card Sketch 215: Maureen W (AUST)

 Morning all

Happy Easter to all, Hope your weekend is going well.

Its a beautiful Autumn day, I love this kind of weather cool mornings and lovely sunny days, If I could find somewhere it is like this all the year around with no humidity I would move there.

Sorry guys as I haven't written anything up for a while there will be a few posts today as long as no dropouts. Our internet died, the speed was pathetic and hard to upload anything so many drop outs,  the technician has been out a few times this week , but really could not find a fault. we ended up getting a new modem things have improved slightly. Our mobile devices don't work particular well either in the house need to go outside if we want to hear people on the phones. I said to the technician up until the last upgrade they did in the area the internet worked well expect in the morning around school start time. He didn't feel this would have any effect on it

My first piece is the card I did for Sketch n Scrap last week when I had my baby papers out. I had to make two baby boy cards for my Sister in Law, so thought I finish off this old fashion baby paper for this sketch.

Its the last one for the month and I have again used Kaisercraft 6.5 " paper pad  "Fleur" not particularly fond of the colour in this range but since it was given to me I cannot complain.

 Morning all

Its been a terrible week, not feeling the best, cannot wait till next week to have the injections in my hip and back, hopefully it lessens the pain a bit.

Last night we had a thunderstorm,  the rain pelted down and the lightning was definitely  a show stopper, thank heavens no thunder. According to the radar we only received the tail end, where as the Gold Coast received the worse of it.

Yesterday  I had to make some Birthday cards, still have 5 more for an order, whilst doing these I decided I have a look at Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge.  Below is my take on the sketch, I have used a Kaisercraft 6.50 " paper Pad called " Fleur"

Its Sunday  afternoon and I was cleaning up my table after a busy day yesterday and I came across the card I did on Friday  for the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge,  which I forgot to post or photograph. 

So here it is, I have started on the Kaisercraft "Full Bloom " Collection  I have 2 paper pads 6.5" . They where given to me, not much has been used. It will take me a while to use these I think.

Sorry to spam you but was carding making yesterday. These will all be donated to Blue Care an organisation which helps older Australian stay in their homes longer

If you read the previous post , you know I was using scraps from Ultimate Crafts "Rambling Rose" 6" paper pad.

The sketch for Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge fitted the bill perfectly for all the 1" to 2.25" strips  they where all 6" long, which I had sitting in the bag, I actually made two of these as the design is so perfect to use up scrap bits

Afternoon All

Its cloudy and overcast, we had some heavy rain this morning, and we have an alert for tonight for strong winds with the rain.

This morning I need a blood test and a visit to the chiropractor, you could see how much damage around us was done. Its unbelievable that it came up as far as it did in some areas. There are still a number of roads cut and people cannot get out . My hubby had to take our son to have day surgery on Wednesday, the 20mt drive took him over an hour and half  to get him where they need to be , just so much traffic on the back streets and people not heeding the warning signs.

This afternoon when I came back I have made a few cards. this one is to enter into the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge . I have made a very Simplistic card using Kaisercraft "Tea Break" 6.5" paper pad and  Catchy Craft "Bird on a Wire" Dye.

I am please with the way it turned out.

 Afternoon all

Sorry to spam you all with all my last minute entries in to challenges.

My week has been extremely busy , we have had lots and lots of rain, the back yard has made its only little lake . If you need to go out which we did this week, need to watch which roads are flooded and detour 

This weather event is so much like the 2011 floods here but with out the remnants of a cyclone

Each morning you wake up and tell us we have had over 13inches of rain or more depends on where you live. Hopefully it moves off out too sea and we can commence the big clean up

 Afternoon All

What a week its been, Its been raining here is South East Queensland for the last 6 days.

The state is now in flood mode , we had over 220mils at night for the last 6 days some days more which is nearly 13" of rain.

Our back yard has its own lake as our soil is mostly lake. Listening to the news this morning there are  number of towns completely inundated with water. For most of us the weather reminds us of the 2011 Brisbane floods, for some its exactly the same.

On a lighter note I have made a card to entered into the Atlantic Hearts Sketch challenge No 461

On this cloud warm afternoon, thunder storm are about but just to the west of us. Hubby out mowing the grass before it gets wet again

I made this card yesterday afternoon, I was going to post yesterday but again it stormed and we lost power for a couple of hours, much to difficult to take a photo

I has this paper on my table so used what I had. Spent the afternoon completing a layout

I had this as my next paper pad to use up its an Old Kaisercraft  6.5" paper Pad called "With Love"

 Afternoon all,

Its been another lovely day, and have got heaps done, caught up on my card challenges I usually do and all my swaps.

Its been so quite today , love it when its peaceful get so much more done, even thou I slept in this morning  nearly nine o'clock I had been up and down through the night with nerve pain, in the end took some prescribe pain killers. then set into a deep sleep at 4 a.m.

Didn't quite work out the way I wanted it too, I think i used the wrong colour in the background, hubby said it looked fine . I used Uniquely Creative "Mind over Matter " Collection and dye Cut 3 x 1.75" Squares and using lime card stock as base.

Afternoon all,

Oh ,my what a day this has been, just have the jug on to make a cup, 

Started out with a plan on what needed doing before the chiropractor,  loaded of towels done and hung out, make a challenge card done, make the card for a Birthday tomorrow didn't get done, add graphics to USB Stick to print the wedding invitation. That's when it fell apart.

We where working in Inscape , but need to save it has a PDF file or Jpeg file, no problems doing that. But each time we save it and did a test run , it was different,no graphics , extra words or questions marks, it was extremely frustrating,  in the middle of it went to the chiropractor which gave me a chance to think of a solution , which I did and after we came back hubby and a mate fiddle around for a while , not listening to my solution.  Finally with time running he decides to listen

Printing now all done, now to just put them in envelopes.

Finished my whinge. The card today is for Atlantic Hearts Card Sketch No 458.

Used scrap bits taped together and then cut with a rectangular dye.

The dye cut Hello , I have used holographic paper , didn't come out well in the photo

Card Sketch 201 (Maureen W )AUST

 Afternoon all

It's midday nearly,  I have completed another card this morning,  I had a cuppa thinking about what I would use to create this circle card, would I cut some circles  or look in my container which has some already cut, then I have a container of circles from my emblishments where I've used all the paper.  They not big containers only the take away plastic food ones they used to use. I brought new ones to house my collectables, creative cuts other come with a collection, hubby adapted size shelving and they stack nicely and it means I don't need to search for them when doing a layout. T hey also hold all my fussy cut pieces as well.

Card sketch 456 Maureen W (AUST)

Morning  all

We woke to a fine sunny morning,  it rained most of yesterday.  I was in my craft space most of the day trying a few fancu card folds.

I need a swap card called a Double Dutch fold. Watched a few U tube videos and tried the base as I went , all seemed to do them larger than Australian Post standard size.. I eventually got the grasp on how to do the base, the layers didn't  matter as I could manage  that . In the end I was very pleased with the outcome  I will add it was to the bottom of this post

This morning I retrieve my Scrap box with the strip's in it and have made this week's card for the challenge ever at Atlantic Hearts sketch challenge No 456

All pieces came from the box and all pieces used  entirely so a few bits gone.

Card Sketch 455 (Maureen W) AUST

 Afternoon all

Its been another warm day, overnight rain as well.

Reading the news earlythis morni, it told me the East Coast of Australia  can expect  Tsunami like conditions due to Volcanic Eruption at Tonga. To date only heard of the large waves along the coast line.

Not good for the people of Tonga or the surrounding islands.

I haven't  done mmuch it's really has been my only free time this week and I have been catching uup on DT work and a few other bits. I have another busy week this coming week as well

I have used a piece of card base that was in my Close to my Heart box, a gold doily, Uniquely Creative Enamel Dots and bits from my sentiment  box
